Niagara Power Project's Power Vista

Niagara Power Project's Power Vista

Nikola Tesla and George Westinghouse built the world's first hydro-electric power plant in Niagara Falls in 1895. Today the Falls power plants have the capacity to produce over 4.9 million kilowatts of electricity.

The Power Vista is located 4 1/2 miles downstream from the Falls, set amidst the spectacular scenery of the Niagara River Gorge. It features more than 50 interactive exhibits that invite visitors of all ages to have a completely hands-on experience as they learn about hydroelectricity and the historic role it has played in the Niagara Frontier. There is also an observation deck that rises 350 ft. above the Niagara River Gorge. Open year-round, 9am-5pm. Admission is free.

An exhibit at the Power Project.
