The Niagara Falls region has many amazing trails for walking, running, and biking.  There are also a number of places to hike the Niagara Gorge, the rocky cliffs that surround the Niagara River from the waterfalls to Lake Ontario.

  The park has a playground, hiking trail, wild flower area, picnic tables and grills, restrooms, old growth forest and ice rink (weather permitting). There is also a footpath that connects to Whirlpool State Park and the Robert Moses Trail.

  Whirlpool State Park has shelters for picnics, and a trail for walking, running, or biking. Hikers can travel along the Niagara Gorge Rim Trail or venture down the steep stairs into the Niagara Gorge for the Whirlpool Rapids Trail.

  A great place to go picnicking, sledding, boating, hiking or fishing. The park also has a tubing hill, ice-skating rink, and cross-country skiing trails during the winter. Its nature center features exhibits of plants, wildlife and geological displays found in the area. Open year-round.

  Fort Niagara State Park

  The park has two boat launches with access to the Niagara River and Lake Ontario, woodland hiking trails, swimming pools, a waterslide, a view of Lake Ontario, picnic grounds, playgrounds, water fowl hunting, and 18 soccer fields. In winter, visitors can cross-country ski, snowshoe, and sled.
